6 Digital Strategy Tricks For Brand Growth

Have you ever felt overwhelmed with all the digital advice out there? Have you started a digital strategy and before you finish heard about another, then another? Pretty soon you find yourself tangled in loose ends, trying to tie it all together.

In today’s video and article I will narrow digital strategy down to 6 simple tricks that really grow your brand. These 6 strategies are some of the absolute “must do” activities and unspoken rules of the game that elite brands are using today .

Why A Newsletter Is The Digital Strategy Queen

Most of us know that digital strategy is essential these days when it comes to staying relevant to your customer base. More than ever we are using digital platforms for pretty much anything and everything.

Originally we used the internet mainly for information and communication. Now we are using it for socializing, shopping, entertainment, music, movies, tv, our businesses, and more everyday.

So my first digital strategy trick is to simply focus on the most effective platform for reaching your audience.

So what is it you may ask? Well, social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and others are extremely valuable and people are getting better results putting their content up there.

Some Brands are getting good engagement and even some sales. But email, campaigns and newsletters are still 40 times more effective than social platforms. Now this leads me to number two.

Where The “Opt-In” Digital Strategy Is Crucial

So we mentioned how email newsletter is still most effective at reaching an audience. There must be 100 reasons (conscious and subconscious) that people respond and purchase more through email than social platforms.

I’ve noticed just within myself that I’m (obviously) in a social mood on social platforms and can feel invaded by ads and sales propaganda. It’s almost like I want my instagram to be a “safe zone.”

So that is why my next digital strategy trick is so important. Use the Email “Opt-In” everywhere. Ask for an email to sign up for your newsletters on your website, YouTube, social media, anywhere you can. Get your lead magnets out on all channels.

You can ask for an email in so many ways without being pushy or using sales talk.

Your email list is your greatest asset. Like friends on your social platform, the more you have the more you can reach. Except with email, the more you have the more you can sell and take through a customer journey.

When Digital Strategy Means Quality And Value

So once you get people to opt-in and sign up for your newsletters, it’s time to give them free stuff. It’s time to start delivering high value information, content, master checklists, swipe files, pictures, videos, you name it.

So my third digital strategy trick is reciprocity. The more high value free content and information you give your customers and prospects, the more they feel the desire to reciprocate in the form of purchasing your products or services.

You can use pretty much any medium, whether information on your website, blogs, YouTube tutorials or product videos, social media ads and articles, there are so many possibilities. The key is to deliver high value in formation.

My fourth digital strategy trick is simple and obvious, but I see so many brands not doing it!

In general you want to use engaging and high resolution images and video whenever possible. The exception to this rule has to do with load time on websites and email performance.

On your website and in emails use the smallest image size you can before you can see pixelation and low resolution imagery. If your resolution file size is too big, your website and emails may not load on some peoples computers and devices.

How Collaborations Transcend Digital Strategy

My fifth digital strategy trick is to reach out to others. Collaborations, Affiliations, Endorsements, Sponsorships, even Podcasts are just some of the ways you can reach out.

Don’t underestimate the value of working with other brands and businesses.

The value of collaboration is easy to see, but these days there are so many extra perks you need to educate yourself on. For example, if you are a guest on a podcast, that podcast will add you website as a back link on their website!

Back links are one major way search engines rank top websites. So free priority ranking!!!

In general any form of collaboration, affiliation or endorsement will simply open your brand up to an entirely new world of associations, leads, opportunities and sales.

Don’t be the Lone Ranger brand, trying to do everything yourself. You will end up reinventing the wheel, watching everybody else have a great time and success and wondering why you didn’t get invited to the party. You just have to ask if you can come.

What A Good Headline Means In Digital Strategy

My last digital strategy trick is to have strong headlines, subject lines and blurbs. People are getting so much information these days, they need simple, clear, strong words.

Be specific, interesting, fun, adventurous and keep it within your brand culture. Be bold and be you, that is what will separate you and allow you to stand out. Short and sweet.

Study headline strategy, but add your personal twist.

Good headlines and 3 word blurbs have a combination of originality and familiarity. You want your audience to be saying, “That sounds familiar, but I can’t say I ever heard it before.”

Too often I see brands and businesses being too generic, vague, or sometimes way too out there. You absolutely must practice the art of conveying a message in 3-8 words.

Create intrigue and clarity as to what the next step is.

Why Digital Strategy Is One Step At A Time

Because at the end of the day, you are in the business of making sales and selling is a step-by-step process. It starts with intrigue and ends with closing a sale. Creating intrigue and conveying value can absolutely substitute discounts and deals!

You can always lean on discounts and promotional sales offers, but try not too. Think of discounts as a last resort. Start with strong headlines, subject lines, blurbs and quality copy-writing and stand behind your value. It is also your gift to others.
